This Privacy Policy explains how the ChildSafe application ("ChildSafe", the "App"), provided by Daksh Digital Solution ("we", "us", "our"), handles information. Please read it together with our Terms & Conditions. By using ChildSafe you agree to this Policy.
ChildSafe is intended to be set up and used by a parent or legal guardian (18+) to monitor a minor child for whom they are legally responsible, on devices they own or are entitled to manage. The parent is the person in control of the information ChildSafe records.
(a) Monitored activity (stays on your device). Depending on how you configure it, ChildSafe records from the monitored device: application usage and activity, periodic screenshots, foreground app/window information, and web/search activity. It also processes the parent PIN you choose (stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text) to protect access to the dashboard. This monitored activity is never transmitted to us or to any cloud service.
(b) Licence & payment information (handled in our cloud). To run your trial, subscription and billing, ChildSafe processes a limited set of account data: an anonymised device identifier (a one-way hash used to tie a licence to a device — it is not your name or the child's), your trial and subscription status and dates, the app version, and the payment details needed to take payment (handled by our payment provider — we do not store full card details). We practise data minimisation: we do not send the monitored activity, and we do not require a device name that identifies your child to the cloud.
Monitored activity is stored on the monitored device, protected by encryption at rest (database and screenshots) and by your parent PIN; the parent views it over your home Wi-Fi on a private, encrypted connection. It does not leave your devices.
Licence & payment information (section 2(b)) is stored in our cloud backend, hosted on Google Firebase / Google Cloud, and payment data is processed by our payment provider (our chosen payment provider). These providers process the data on our behalf to deliver licensing and billing only.
Because ChildSafe processes a child's personal data, you as the parent/guardian are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so. When you set up ChildSafe you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and have the lawful right to monitor the device. In India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 imposes specific obligations regarding the processing of children's personal data (including parental consent and restrictions on tracking and behavioural monitoring); you agree to use ChildSafe in a manner consistent with applicable law.
The information is used solely to provide the App's features to you — showing you the monitored activity so you can understand and guide your child. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising or behavioural profiling.
We never share the monitored activity with third parties — it stays on your device and does not reach us at all. For licence and payment only, we rely on the service providers that host our backend and process payments: Google Firebase / Google Cloud (licensing backend) and our payment provider our chosen payment provider, each acting on our behalf under their own privacy terms. We do not sell any information or use it for advertising or behavioural profiling. We may disclose information if required by law.
You control how long data is kept: ChildSafe applies the screenshot and log retention periods you set in Settings, after which older data is removed. Removing a device or uninstalling the App deletes its local data on that device.
We use reasonable technical measures to protect the information, including encryption of the database and screenshots at rest, protected key storage, and PIN-gated, encrypted access to the dashboard. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure; you are responsible for keeping your PIN confidential and your devices secure.
ChildSafe is a tool for parents; it is not directed at children as users and children do not create accounts. We encourage parents to be transparent with their children about monitoring where appropriate, and to respect their child's growing need for independence and privacy.
As the parent, you can change what is captured, adjust retention, and delete data at any time in the App. Subject to applicable law, individuals may have rights over their personal data; requests can be sent to the contact below.
We may update this Policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date shows the latest version. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
